Flat Mount 180 is a collaborative effort of Mark Landsaat, UCC, Magura, Tektro, TRP and Promax. It offers a direct to frame mounting option for flat mount calipers in combination with a 180mm rotor. We believe this idea can benefit many riders and we want to encourage widespread implementation by sharing the dimensions free for anyone to use. The brake companies will offer MTB-style Flat Mount brakes that can be used in combination with frames that are ready for FM180.
The idea for FM180 was born from the idea to tuck a small caliper inside the rear triangle of a full suspension frame. In addition to that, we believe there are many other bikes that can benefit from the increased stopping power of a larger rotor. E-Bikes, Mountain bikes, bikepacking bikes and tandems are all possible bikes that can benefit from FM180.
The original dimensions for FM180 were reviewed by the respective parties and the final drawings are published on this site. Technical drawings and 3D files in a variety of file formats can be found on the download page.
In addition to FM180, we also have drawings for FM160. FM160 is a direct to frame mounting option for flat mount calipers in combination with a 160mm rotor. We believe 160mm rotors are great for many bikes. Cyclocross, Gravel and Bikepacking Bikes are just some examples that come to mind.
